As the first light of dawn pierces the horizon, I find myself in the quiet sanctuary of my home office, the world around me still asleep. This sacred time, before the day's demands encroach, is when my imagination is most alive, weaving stories of love entwined with darkness. Today, I want to share with you the intricate process behind crafting the intense emotions and complex narratives that define my dark romance novels, especially as I dive into my upcoming series, Highest Bidder.

At its core, Highest Bidder is a journey through shadowed paths of the human heart, exploring how love can emerge from the darkest of places.

The series begins with an interesting premise: a woman auctions herself off to the highest bidder, only to find her soulmate in the man who tormented her throughout her youth. It's a story that demands a delicate balance between darkness and redemption, pain and love—a balance that is both a challenge and a passion for me as an author.

In the morning

My day begins in the early morning solitude, where the quiet and calm provide a fertile ground for my darkest tales to take root. Before the world wakes, before the demands of motherhood and daily life come calling, I'm already exploring the depths of my characters' souls. This uninterrupted time is when I delve into the complexities of their pasts, their desires, and the scars that shape their actions.

Walking Through Shadows

My creative process is as much physical as it is mental. Accompanied by my loyal mini Australian shepherd and the silent, comforting presence of my ragdoll cat, I dictate into my phone while walking on the treadmill or strolling through the neighborhood. This movement, this rhythm of steps and breaths, helps me navigate the tangled emotions and relationships that are the hallmark of my stories. It's during these moments that I find clarity in the chaos, piecing together the intricate dance of love and darkness that defines dark romance.

Creating characters that resonate with readers requires a deep understanding of human nature. My protagonists are not simply victims or heroes; they are flawed, relatable beings struggling with their shadows.
